stopmotion animation @ Mscala Malta

Stopmotion is the ability to make objects appear to move on their own. This is made possible because the object is moved in small amounts and photographed with a webcam. When the series of frames are played as a continuous sequence, the objects give an illusion of movement.

Creating a Web page in The Print Shop is much like creating any other kind of project.

There are many QuickStart Layouts available for Web pages.

I will be providing the basic steps to conclude this task:

1.                 Click Start – Programs – The Printshop 

2.                 Select Web Pages and Click Next. 

3.                 Select Start from Scratch and Click Next.

4.                 Choose Standard Page Width.

Note: By Choosing Custom Page Width one can alter the page size by enlarging the pixels of the width and height. (This enlarges the size of the document in case of printing)

5.                 Click Finish. 

6.                 To add the Background : Click Panel Colour and Texture … (3rd icon on the left)

7.                 Select Texture or a colour from the colour palette window and choose an appropriate background.

8.                 Add the second page to your document by clicking the right arrow at the bottom left hand corner. 

9.                 The Add Pages window opens. Select Add Copies of Page 1. Click Ok.

10.              To insert a graphic click the 1^st icon on the left (1^st option-Insert Graphics)

11.               Drag the picture to the desired place and enlarge it as required from the resizing handles. 

12.              To write text one can click on the 2nd icon on the left and choose first option -Insert text  box.

13.              Click and drag to open a text box, change font style and size as you like.

14.               To insert a button go on the Insert menu and choose Web graphic. The Web art section will open – drag     downwards to find the buttons which show Next, Home…

15.               If you want to link the button right click on it and choose Hyperlink. 

16.                When the Hyperlink Window opens select A page in your project, then link to : Next Page and click OK. 

17.                Follow these same steps if you want to link the 2^nd page to the first page.

18.                If you to link a particular text to another website found on the Internet you should Go click on Web and     choose Hotspots - draw a box around the chosen text and type the address of the website in the URL box.

 19.              To preview the Web Page in the browser, go to Web in the Menu Bar and click Preview Website.

One can continue editing text, headlines, adding buttons, pictures and hyperlinks as much as s/he likes.

You will be logged on this web address http://skola.gov.mt  which is the Schools Portal

Input your Email and Password in the space provided – check with the details provided. Please note that @skola.gov.mt is already typed one just needs to input  the login name – for example, if your email is spitj0123@skola.gov.mt you need to input just the username near the @ symbol.

Once you input the password click enter and you will log into your mailbox.

New and read emails are found in  – Inbox

Sent Items is where a copy of the emails you send are saved

To save an address in the address book – click on Address book – Click on New Contact – in the Contact name section type the full name of the person while in the email section type in the email address in full. Finally click on Save Contact and the email will be saved in the address book.

Emails that one deletes move into the trash can.  While in the trash can they can be retrieved but once you click on Empty Now these are permanently deleted. If possible always empty the trash can before you log out.

To send an email Click on New Message

The From section will display your email address.

In the To section you either type in an email and select one from the address book

To select an email address which is already saved choose Address book from the drop down arrow. Your address will open, click on the email address that you want and click on To button.

In the Subject section type the topic of the email message. You can leave it blank as well.

In the blank (white) area you can type your message.

If you want to attach a file or picture or anything else click on Browse.

Find where you saved the file and attach it. For example d drive (cd), removable disk (pendrive, external hard disk..) or my documents – choose from the drop down arrow.
Find the name of the file, click on it and click on open.

The file will be attached.

If you do not want to keep a copy of the email in the Sent items remove the mark (by clicking on the box) from the Copy section (found near the address book).

Click on the Send (top left corner) button and your message will be sent.

Last but important points:

When you receive an email you open it by clicking on the name of the message displayed in the Inbox.

You can reply to a message – click on the Reply button (found next to the print button)

The reply message box opens, highlight the text and delete it (if you do not want it), then type and send your reply. Please note that when it is a reply the To section has already the email address of the person to whom you want to send your message.

To delete a message – click on the Delete button. There are two buttons from where one can delete an email.

You can also take the email address of the sender from this section by clicking on Take Address.

This will automatically save the address in the Default Addresses Section of the Address Book. (To have a better   organised Address Book it is better to   save you addresses through the Address Book Section as explained further above.)

To exit from your email account choose Log out.
